No Little White Chapel

Getting hitched at the city clerk's office in Brooklyn isn't exactly all champagne and roses. But it does the job. We were in and out in about 20 minutes.

No, really I was excited.


This is me trying to warn Jackie that the security guard is going to kick her out for taking pictures.

Feeling fancy.

The whole ceremony lasted about 2 1/2 minutes but it was sweet. (What's that hideous backdrop?)

We were both laughing pretty much the whole time. It just seemed so surreal.

It was a snap!

As fast and no-frills as it was, we've never been happier to no longer be living in sin!

We have so many amazing artists from all over the world contributing to the details of our celebration. I'm just dying to spill the beans and show pictures of all the cool stuff they're doing.

But I want everything to come together and be a surprise for Mexico. Sigh.

sit down - stay awhile

Sure the house is still a mess. But at least now there's a place for people to sit.

Our new Room & Board chairs arrived this week and they fit in perfectly to the front parlor.
And Thom's Christmas present to me has taken up residency in the den. It's surprisingly comfortable.

These are the kinds of images that make we want to paint everything white. It just looks so clean and fresh. So the opposite of the house now. And I imagine our furniture and artwork would be so much more striking against this background.

This picture especially gives me inspiration for our upstairs bathroom...

While a new pup wasn't under our tree this year (Jasper's happy about that) we did get lots of other goodies. Dooce, however, welcomed little Coco.

Just a bit jealous.

This year's New Year's Eve party was certainly a bit more on the tame side in comparison to last year. But it still had its share of raucous celebration.

And just to be utterly stereotypical we got it started with a bit of Guitar Hero. *shudder*
