the mystery of the backyard continues

These bizarre tulips (?) sprouted up overnight. They look like they're going to eat something...

The blackberry bush came back to life!

This tree also came back to life and has some fragrant flowers.

Everything looks great, both indoors and out...those tulips are beautiful...I think we saw some like that in Holland! And is that a lilac tree? I think so maybe..

care of tulips if u want them to return next spring. when the bloom begins to fade, "deadhead" that means remove the bloom, if u let it go to seed it will deplete the bulb. u must also let the bulb re-absorb the leaves, do not cut them away, doesn't look good but the bulb needs the nutrients. I suggest u plant around it to hide the dying leaves, or u could lift them, store in a box with peat moss in basement and replant in the fall. they are beautiful and expensive bulbs.
