We purchased Thom's suit and my wedding dress today! We went to soho to look at dresses at Nicole Miller and happened across a huge sale at Paul Smith. We're going to look mighty snazzy and all within budget.

dreams do come true
A few weeks ago (at least a month by now) Thom and Ben planted some seeds in the herb garden. I didn't have much faith - especially after a friend's dog kicked up the dirt in the herb box. But now we have several different kinds of basil growing! Sure, it doesn't look like much yet but it's something.
Ben - what else did you plant in there??
And the rose bush bloomed again... One of the reasons why the backyard is our favorite room.

don't hold your breath
This is just one of many reasons why we need to have the closets redone in the house. Currently this closet is in the middle room (between the main and guest bedrooms). It's actually bigger than it looks but the shelves don't make good use of the space.
We may have paused in the house renovations to plan the wedding but someday we'll actually reverse this closet. It shares a wall with our bedroom so we can make a much larger closet in our bedroom and close off the closet on this side. In fact, this will be the next renovation we undertake as it involves moving a wall and is the last thing standing between us and shiny, beautiful floors.
This room will then become the office. And maybe we'll actually be able to store all our shoes in the closet. Imagine that.
nothing more rewarding than a good deal
I picked up some new summer sheets for our bed at the Jonathan Adler sample sale. Someday we'll have a real bed too...
Another picture of Jasper - just for fun! What? Dooce takes pictures of her dog every day. It could be worse people!
He's been enjoying his carrot toy that we picked up for him in San Fran.

Since we got rid of the big green couch there's been a bit of a hole in our lives. We've put the chair there temporarily... But we will be getting a couple Quinns to fill the void. (We went to the store last weekend and loved it!)
Tony and Val came over a couple weeks ago and helped Thom install a couple window AC units. We now have AC in the den and the guest room. Just in time too - it's been sweltering around here lately.

due for a little freshening up
I just wanted to call your attention to our lovely new tags that are connected to each post. This will categorize each post. You can also click on one of these tags (also found in the column to the right in order of popularity) to view all posts that fall under a specific category.
I've also added a little Etsy widget in the right column where I will highlight some of my favorite things...
Thom's working hard on a site for wedding info. Later this summer we'll have a place where you can visit to find out all the details and RSVP!

We went to the Renegade Craft Fair in Williamsburg yesterday. I was able to meet several of the artists that I had been admiring at Etsy.
We picked up a couple mugs and a small bowl from Kim Westad. And a couple mugs from Adams Puryear.
I also fell in love with a few new artists -
Jaime Zollars
Laura Normandin of Wren Handmade
Figs & Ginger
Ashley Anna Brown of Fern Animals

still fans of JetBlue
Some of you may remember Thom's fury during our flight to San Francisco in May thanks to the broken TVs...
________________________________
While flying on Flight 641 from JFK to SFO on Wednesday May 16 my television did not work at all. Instead of being greeted with a lovely DirecTV screen, my
television was flickering constantly. To further exacerbate the issue, I was unable to turn the brightness on the screen down. It was quite unpleasant to say the least. Necessity is the mother of all invention and luckily I was able to build a contraption from the Air Sickness bag that was able to cover the TV Screen. While this provided me with some much needed tranquility from the constant flickering, I
was still without the most important part of the JetBlue experience, the TV! While both flight attendants tried their best (repeatedly whacking the video player device under the seat!) their attempts were in vain. I'd like to ask for some compensation for my duress. The last time something like this happened to me on Jet Blue I was compensated for my inconvenience.
Thanks.
Thom

Maybe you're thinking, "duress is a bit of an exaggeration." I assure you - it's not. There was definitely some duress on Thom's part.
And they responded:

Hello Thom,
Thank you for your email regarding your recent JetBlue flight and your
inoperable DirecTV monitor. We understand how disappointing this was for you, especially when you have enjoyed this service in the past.
Please be assured that we will continue to offer this service on all
our flights; however, because you were unable to watch our Inflight entertainment on your recent flight, we have issued you and Jesse each a $15 JetBlue electronic voucher for this disappointment.

doing our part - to be stylish
I just received my EnviroSax (finally - they were on backorder) and they're amazing! If you're in the market for reusable bags I highly recommend them.
